A tour of Iceland's South Shore will take in a veritable wealth of history as well as both natural and geological wonders.

This is an area characterised by volcanoes, glaciers, black sand beaches and waterfalls and so a visit to this area can cover many of Iceland’s biggest attractions. It is also a place where grasslands full of Icelandic horses are stitched onto jagged mountains and valleys, creating spectacular views.

We offer one holiday covering this area, a self-drive holiday.

Our Exceptional Iceland holiday self-drive holiday is a real treat and includes all of the main sights such as the ‘Golden Circle’ (Geysir Geothermal Area, Gullfoss Waterfall and Thingvellir National Park), alongside a day dedicated to the South Shore. You can explore geothermal valleys, visit towering waterfalls, lava fields, a range of black sand beaches and you can even choose to hike on a glacier. Your time is your own and so you can tailor your day to suit your preferences.

During the holiday you will also witness the stunning glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón, which is at the far reach of what can be deemed the South Shore. It is a stunning sight to see.
