Log Cabins and Winter Cottages

Cosy cabins for your winter adventure

It’s hard to argue that staying in a log cabin in a winter wonderland makes for true retreat holiday. Just the name conjures up romantic imagery of escapism and our log cabin holidays are all about living up to that dream.

Our collection of log cabin and winter cottage holidays all provide a self-contained hideaway and a real ‘home-from-home’ in Lapland. They are ideal for couples, families and small groups as our cabins usually accommodate between 2 and 7 people. For bigger groups, we can also provide much larger cabins to suit your needs.

Log cabins and winter cottages to suit your style

We offer a range of log cabin style; from traditional log-built cabins with wood-burning fires and saunas to idyllic wooden cabins and cottages with more modern interiors, and a great deal in between. No matter which style you decide on, this accommodation choice offers you your own cosy space to relax in after a day in the great snowy outdoors.

The convenience of a log cabin

The wonderful thing about our log cabin holidays is that you do not have to forego any of the conveniences of a hotel. Your meals are still prepared for you and served in a restaurant nearby so you don’t need to worry about the hassle of self-catering. In some of our handpicked destinations, there are small local shops nearby so that you can pick up snacks and drinks to enjoy back at your own cabin.

Our log cabin holiday destinations

The joy of staying in a log cabin is further compounded by the fact they are situated in stunning surroundings and have so many wonderful experiences to offer.

At Jeris in Finland, the delightful winter cottages are dotted around the forests that surround the main hotel, in an idyllic setting, they also offer wonderful facilities including their own saunas and log burning stoves. They are between 5 and 15 minutes away from the hotel restaurant and the walk back after your evening meal may even allow you to witness an Aurora display.

Torassieppi, Finland, is one of Jeris’ delightful sister hotels. Here, there are rooms within winter cottages as well as detached wooden cabins, all on the edge of a stunning frozen lake. The food served in the nearby restaurant focuses on local, organic produce and you are also only a short walk away from the reindeer farm, Torassieppi Winter Village and the wonderful Aurora Domes- a Northern Lights glamping accommodation.

In Luosto, Finnish Lapland the traditional log cabins are compact but full of character. They provide easy access to the nearby spa hotel, the centre of the village, the ski slopes and the cross-country ski trails.

Further afield in the Yukon, Canada is your chance to stay in a log cabin at Tagish Wilderness Lodge. This accommodation is deep in the wilderness and only accessible by ski plane. These hand-crafted cabins offer a back to basics retreat in exceptional surroundings for a completely different experience.

Our log cabin and winter cottage holidays are all about offering the full winter getaway experience. Each cabin tends to be individually decorated and offers its own charm but the delightful experience of staying in one remains unchanged, whichever you choose.
