On your journey, you can admire a number of stunning coastal landscapes, from sleepy ports and dramatic rock formations to sun-drenched beaches. Not to mention a variety of destinations and cultures. You’ll spend time in well-known places such as Málaga and Puerto Banús, as well as truly authentic destinations such as Cadiz and Seville, where ‘typically Spanish’ traditions such as flamenco, religious festivals and quaint tapas bars are still commonplace. Ending the trip in Portugal, you will experience the relaxed ambience of the Algarve, before ending your trip in the bustling capital.

All of this will be experienced with the MY Harmony G providing your base.

The communal areas of the motorsailer include a stylish bar, an upper deck perfect for dining ‘al fresco’, and an indoor dining room should you prefer to take your meals inside. There is plenty of space and plenty of comfort on board this unforgettable small ship cruiser.

Duration:9 nights

  • You will be collected from Málaga Airport and transferred to your hotel, before embarking the yacht tomorrow.

Why not head into Málaga tonight to seek out a local tapas restaurant or visit one of the many flamenco clubs that the city has to offer. Alternatively, you could spend the afternoon and evening enjoying the hotel’s rooftop pool and jazz bar.

Please note that depending on the departure date this trip may start in Portugal (Portimão) and finish in Spain (Málaga). Please see 'Dates and prices' tab for details.

    Included Meals:  None
  • Today, you will take a transfer from your hotel to the port, ready to board the MY Harmony G at 15.00.

After you have settled into your cabin and acquainted yourself with the yacht’s layout, you can look forward to welcome cocktails, followed by dinner onboard. The vessel will remain in-port overnight.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Dinner
  • The yacht will remain in Málaga all day today, leaving you with plenty of time to explore the city’s highlights. Loaded with history, brimming with the artistic essence of Pablo Picasso, and bustling with a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, you will not fall short of things to fill your time with today.

Of course, the Museo Picasso is an unmissable attraction for those searching for a taste of art and culture during their trip. Málaga’s elaborate, 16th century Cathedral is also highly worth visiting, as is The Alcazaba. This 11th century palace is reminiscent of The Alhambra in Granada, and its stone archways and courtyards are definitely worth exploring. Entry to all of the above is arranged locally.

Alternatively, you can book an optional excursion locally on-board the Harmony G. If you would like to venture a bit further today, then a fantastic full-day excursion to the famed city of Granada is possible: this city is a testament to Southern Spain’s history under Muslim occupation during the Middle Ages. This includes entrance to The Alhambra, a visit to the neighbouring Generalife Gardens, and to Granada’s Cathedral. You can find further details on the ‘Personalise’ tab, then simply speak with your Cruise Coordinator locally in order to arrange this.

Lunch is included in Grenada or on board the Harmony G, depending on whether you take part in the excursion.

A barbecue will be served on deck for dinner this evening, should the weather permit it. The vessel will then make its way to Puerto Banús, your next destination, overnight.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Having travelled through the night, the Harmony G will arrive in Puerto Banús in the morning. As one of the more glamorous of Spain’s marinas, the area is packed with fantastic restaurants, cafés and bars.

Why not head to Calle de Ramon Areces for some shopping and authentic Spanish cuisine, or to Zoco del Sol for a wander around the Artisan stalls. This open-air market is open every day during the summer, and sells handmade jewellery, vintage clothing, arty ornaments and excellent souvenirs to take home. Or, of course, there are a number of beaches to enjoy here in Puerto Banús, if you fancy a relaxing snooze beneath the rays.

If you would like to venture a little further up the coast, Marbella is merely 15 minutes away, and staff on board will gladly advise you on the best way to get there. We recommend visiting Marbella’s old town, for a stroll through the charming alleyways and the maze of narrow streets which are lined with whitewashed buildings. If you do, be sure not to miss “Plaza de los Naranjos” (the Orange Square), which is drenched in aromatic flowers and filled with open-air cafes and restaurants providing gastronomic delights.

Lunch and dinner are included on board the yacht today. The MY Harmony G will depart Puerto Banús and sail towards Gibraltar in the evening, arriving late at night.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • When you wake up, you will have arrived in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory with a combined Spanish and Moorish heritage. You can enjoy breakfast on board in the port, with magnificent views of the jutting Gibraltar Rock.

Then, it is up to you whether you would like to step on land and explore this peninsula, and where you would like to go. There is the option of joining an excursion (bookable and payable locally), or you can explore the area independently.

All of Gibraltar’s highlights are within easy reach, including Gibraltar Rock, St Michael’s Cave and the barbary macaques. Many people choose to take the cable car up to the top of The Rock (a 426-metre peak which rises above the land, offering unparalleled views of Spain) and get their cameras at the ready for some truly spectacular panoramas. From there, you could make your way down to see the barbary apes in their natural habitat. Why not head into St Michael’s Cave, which you can wander around at your own pace, and enjoy the magnificent light show which shows bright colours shimmering over the fascinating rock formations inside. Your on-board cruise co-ordinator will let you know the best things to do in Gibraltar today, and the best way to do them.

At around midday, the yacht will depart for Seville. Lunch will be provided on board, and there will be a cooling swim stop in the afternoon on your way to the next destination.

Dinner will be served on the MY Harmony G, and you can enjoy the yacht’s facilities into the evening, or simply watch the sunset on board from the outer deck.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • This morning, you can expect breath-taking views, as the MY Harmony G will be making its way up the Guadalquivir River.

You will arrive into Seville, the capital of Andalucía, at approximately 12.00 pm. Famous for its Gothic architecture, its flamenco, and its sheer beauty, and rated as Lonely Planet’s ‘Top City to visit in 2018’, this city is a true sight to behold.

You can simply spend your afternoon here being seduced by Seville’s Gothic cathedral, Baroque churches, cobbled medieval lanes and delectable tapas restaurants, as there is a myriad of places to explore here in Seville.

For those who wish to have a little more guidance during your time here, an optional excursion is available and bookable on-board. The excursion will take you to the Cathedral, the Alcazar Palace and gardens, the Maria Luisa Park and the district of Santa Cruz.

The yacht will remain docked in Seville overnight, so you can relish what Seville has to offer into the evening. This may be a good time to explore Seville’s thriving flamenco scene or enjoy a glass of wine or a coffee late into the evening like the locals do.

You will also have a wonderful themed dinner on board tonight, featuring the best of Southern Spanish cuisine and Mediterranean delicacies, as well as a musical performance by a local artist or group.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • This morning, you will wake up in Seville’s port and have breakfast on board. Once you arrive at Cádiz, you will see that this ancient port city is one of history and culture, and its old age oozes from every building, every cobbled alleyway and every faded monument.

There are a number of museums here, for example Museo de Cádiz or Casa del Obispo, if history is something that particularly grabs your interest. Cathedrals and monuments are also a regular sight in Cadiz, including the ‘Cathedral de Cádiz’ – a yellow-domed baroque construction which appears almost golden under the Mediterranean sunlight.

If you are not a history buff, you can of course admire the exquisite beauty of old crumbling buildings from the outside, enjoying the romantic ambiance that is inescapable in a city of such an eclectic mix of cultures and heritages. We cannot forget about Cádiz’s numerous cafés, as well as authentic restaurants and bars hosting flamenco shows that you can watch free of charge.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included on board today, and the Harmony G will sail overnight to Portmão.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Reaching Portimão in Portugal’s Algarve region at around 12pm, you can breakfast on board before making your way into this cobbled coastal town.

Portimão is known for its relaxed atmosphere and you won’t find hordes of tourists here, meaning the restaurants and cafés are geared for the locals, selling traditional food at a good price. Its picturesque harbour front and historic centre have retained true Portuguese charm, containing plazas lined with open air cafés and narrow streets filled with shops selling local crafts, souvenirs and bargain leather goods. You will spend the day here, so you have plenty of time to look around. If you wish to see more of the area, you can join an optional guided excursion to Silves, a peaceful town just a twenty minute drive from Portimão.

In the evening, you can look forward to the ‘Captain’s Dinner’, where the captain will join everyone for an elegant drinks reception and a meal with mouth-watering local specialities – a fitting way to spend your final night on this splendid vessel.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to your hotel for the final night of you trip.

Here, you can enjoy the hotel facilities, or spend your evening relaxing, dining and enjoying one last sunset before your flight home tomorrow.

    Included Meals:  Breakfast
  • After breakfast in your hotel, you will be picked up by your transfer and taken to the airport in time for your flight home.

    Included Meals:  None

Cadiz - Seville full day tour

From Cadiz, you will be transferred to Seville, Andalucía’s sun-soaked capital. Drenched in culture, history, charm and atmosphere, Seville is a must-see destination. This is why our local experts have organised a nine-hour excursion here, as there are so many awe-inspiring sites to appreciate.

Your English-speaking guide will take you to see the city’s highlights, including Torre del Oro, meaning gold tower; The Cathedral, which is the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site; and Giralda, the bell tower of Seville, which you can climb to the top of for some spectacular views of the city.

A visit to Maria Luisa Park will have you roaming shady avenues whilst you breathe in the fragrant aromas that exude from the exotic flora. Fairytale buildings and Moorish pools and fountains can also be admired here, along with literary monuments and archaeology museums. You will also see the Alcázar, a 14th-century royal palace. The King of Spain still uses this as a place of residence, making it the oldest palace still in use today.

Finally, you will head to Barrio Santa Cruz, where you can explore the maze of cobbled lanes and absorb the fragrance of the orange blossoms that adorn the terraces.

After approximately nine hours, you will return to the port of Cadiz. The price of this tour includes transfers, lunch in a local restaurant and any necessary entrance fees.

Please note: shore excursions must be booked and paid for with your cruise co-ordinator once you are on-board.

Portimao - Silves and Monchique tour

After weighing anchor in Portimão, you will take an approximate twenty-minute transfer to the ancient city of Silves with your English-speaking guide. Many regard Silves as the ideal place to explore the “real” Portugal, as it has not been hit by mass tourism, unlike other areas of the Algarve such as Albufeira.

Read more about this activity

Much of the town has remained unchanged for centuries, and the old walled section of Silves has not seen any new developments for more than 500 years. History, therefore, resounds throughout the quaint, cobbled streets, and all of the historical monuments here can be reached by foot. During the excursion, you can admire the centuries-old Moorish castle complex, a 13th-century cathedral built by Alfonso X of Castile, and a 15th-century bridge over the Rio Arade.

You will then return to your transfer vehicle and travel for around 30 minutes to Serra de Monchique, where you will find the market town of Monchique nestled amongst the hills. This visit complements the excursion perfectly, as this rural town, set out in the country, is completely different to coastal Algarve. The small doorways housing various artisan trades, 17th-century Franciscan monastery and 16th century Parish Church are just a few of the delights to appreciate.

The activity will last for around 4 hours before you return to Portimão.

Please note: shore excursions must be booked and paid for with your cruise co-ordinator once you are on-board.

Activity duration: 4 hours

Motril – The Alhambra and Granada (full day tour)

Originally constructed in 889 AD, the Arabic palace and fortress ‘The Alhambra’ gained its name due to the reddish tinge that characterises the walls of the castle (‘qa'lat al-Hamra’ means ‘Red Castle’ in Arabic). This gives the illusion that the palace is almost glowing, particularly with the Mediterranean sunshine beaming over it, proving to be a marvellous spectacle in front of its mountainous backdrop.

Read more about this activity

Your tour will begin with a drive to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which will take around one hour. There are so many features to the palace, including magnificent halls and courtyards, all of which you will explore during your tour. These include the Alcazaba fortress, the Serrallo, The Patio of Los Arrayanes, the Hall of la Barca, the Salon of the Embajadores, the Patio de Los Leones, the Hall of the Abencerrajes, the Royal Baths and the Palace of Charles V. Not only will this be a fascinating historical tour, but also an artistic experience, as the walls and columns are adorned with impressive carvings and a variety of decorative elements.

Once you have toured the Alhambra, you will visit its neighbouring Generalife Gardens. The gardens are brimming with intricate archways, small fountains and water features, and an array of fragrant flora to enjoy during your time there.

Afterwards, it is time for lunch in a local restaurant chosen by the local team, before a visit to The Cathedral of Granada, built by Queen Isabella after the conquest of Granada on the site of the Mosque. The cathedral is classed as a Spanish Renaissance masterpiece, and its interior is dripping with opulence and elegance. Finally, you will visit The Royal Chapel, which is also extravagantly decorated and houses a collection of art that belonged to Queen Isabella herself, along with her crown and sceptre and King Fernando’s sword.

This tour includes lunch, entrance fees and transfers.

Please note: shore excursions must be booked and paid for with your cruise co-ordinator once you are on-board.

In some of our destinations, you can borrow or hire equipment for use in your free time. You do so entirely at your own risk. You must ensure that you are properly prepared, have the necessary equipment and knowledge (maps, etc) and ensure that where applicable, you follow marked routes. We recommend discussing your plans with the local teams who will be able to advise on the most suitable options for you.

Always let the reception/guide know where you are planning to go and take a torch and mobile phone (with the hotel/guide’s phone number stored). It is also a good idea to leave your contact number and the time you expect to return to the hotel should the hotel need to contact you.

Itinerary amendments

The order of activities is always subject to change and guests will be provided with their final itinerary upon arrival.

Car hire
If your trip includes car hire the named driver must have a credit card registered in their name which they can present when they collect their car along with their driving licence, as a deposit will be held on the credit card. Please see your trip dossier for full details.

Travel Safety and Foreign Office Advice

Our clients’ safety is at the centre of everything we do, and our operations team continually assesses and monitors the destinations we feature. We carry out thorough risk assessments and work closely with all of our suppliers to continually follow best practice. For up to date travel advice the UK government offers its Travel Aware website as well as the advice detailed below.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Advice

We receive all updates from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) with regards to travel advice and we always ensure that we follow this advice in our operations. The FCO issues travel advisories for countries based on a very wide range of factors. They may provide notification about things as simple as a football match and crowds, or they may go so far as to advise against all travel to a region. We ask all our clients to refer to the relevant Travel Advice by Country for the destinations they are visiting in order to make an informed decision on the safety of the destination based on the details provided. It also provides vital information regarding entry requirements, embassy information, local laws and customs as well as specific safety and health. Guests should take responsibility for keeping themselves up to date with this advice. Please also ensure that, if you are transiting through another country, you have read the advice and meet the entry requirements for that destination too.

The FCO travel advice is applicable to British Passport Holders. Most governments will issue their own travel advice for a region and, if you are not a UK resident then you can find some helpful links below:

Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/ New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade http://www.safetravel.govt.nz/ Canadian Consular Affairs Bureau http://voyage.gc.ca/ The U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs http://travel.state.gov/content/travel/english.html

If the FCO deems that there is an unacceptable level of risk for UK citizens then, together with the government, they may issue an advisory against all travel to a region or country. If such an advisory is published, then we will act accordingly, and this may require the cancellation, curtailment or amendment of a holiday itinerary. These decisions are made on the basis of ensuring our clients’ safety and will affect all clients on the holiday, regardless of their nationality.

If one of our local experts suggests an amendment due to a situation which develops locally then we may also take the decision to amend an itinerary appropriately.

If we have to cancel your holiday prior to departure you will be offered the option of an alternative trip (where any price difference will either be refunded to or covered by you) or a full refund of the monies paid.

If we have to curtail a holiday, then you will be refunded for any costs for the elements we have been unable to deliver, where we have been able to secure a refund from our suppliers. If we must reroute a holiday, then any basis for refund is determined on a case by case basis and dependent on whether the central holiday experience was provided or not.

Flight schedule changes and connecting transportation

On your documentation, we will confirm your flight schedule. Sometimes the flight number, routing and timings might change prior to your departure. If the change is classed as a significant change then we will contact you to discuss this. Please see our booking conditions for details.

Flight schedule changes can impact on your pre and post-holiday travel arrangements if these have been booked separately to your holiday. We strongly recommend that you do not book transport (such as trains or transfers), car parking or non-connecting flights to the departure point for your holiday until you have received your final confirmed travel times when your final travel documents are issued. We are not responsible for the effect of any schedule change on your pre or post travel arrangements. We strongly recommend that you do not purchase non-flexible or non-refundable tickets to avoid cancellation and penalty charges.

Booking your own flights - cancellation disclaimer

If you have chosen to book your own flights, then you will need to wait until we confirm to you that the holiday departure has met the minimum numbers required to run (if applicable to your chosen holiday). Once the holiday is guaranteed to run, you will be informed and you can then make your arrangements.

If transfers are included in your holiday, please ensure that any potential flights will be met by our standard transfers (speak to one of our Travel Experts for advice) otherwise private transfer supplements may be applicable. Once your flights are booked, please send us a copy of your detailed flight itinerary.

Please be aware that most tickets are non-refundable in the case of cancellation. For this reason, we strongly advise you check the rules of the ticket and check the limitations of your cancellation insurance before booking. We cannot be held liable, in the unlikely eventuality that we should be forced to cancel or amend your trip, for losses incurred relating to any flight booking you have made.
