Keep your eyes peeled for birds of prey and sit back and enjoy this awe-inspiring place.
You can also visit the famous island of Runde, home to over 500,000 nesting birds, including a large colony of puffins and often regarded as one of the best bird-viewing sites in the world. In addition to this, the hiking in the Sunnmøre area is incredible. You can walk alongside the cool waters of the fjords and up into the luscious green fields and hills above, past cascading waterfalls and over wooden bridges. Stop for a picnic and treat yourself to some of the best views in the world.
With access to such incredible terrain, Ålesund acts as a great base to explore the area of Sunnmøre and its amazing scenery.
